On Imaginary Significations

On Imaginary Significations is a visual essay that explores the imaginary significations of a society related to its imagery within a global culture. In an era when we live more surrounded by images than ever before, fragmentary representations unavoidably embody and shape the significations which constitute the understanding of dominant ideologies. 

This is a research exercise that examines the potential to rethink our imaginary significations through deconstruction and reconstruction of visual representations. By gathering images with Google Images, I create a large image collection corresponding to each letter of the alphabet. This is only the starting point from where to analyze in what ways does imagery limit some of the relevant significations of our society as it will frame the future’s memory of our time.
